History 

In 1903 a hameln architect designed Wettorstr. 15 an upper middle class home. In 1919 neighboring houses were erected. The facades, which show elements of the art epoch "Art Noeveau" and are listed as national monuments.

The first owners of this house were the family H. Kunze and remained so until 1989 when the house was sold to the present proprietor.1

In the spring of 1990 necessary renovations commenced on the structural fabric of the building. While redecorating the interior, the workmen found original Jugendstil paintings at the main portal, which serve as an essential reminder of the history of this building.

Highly decorative wall and ceiling ornamentation and stucco work were uncovered as further restorations and renovations took place.

Great care and attention to detail was given to the restoration of each single window frame and step in the staircase.

These historical treasures were brought back to a sparkling new life in order to invoke the former spirit of the Romantic Hotel, and finally, to open it to the public.

On 10th September 1993 the dream of Baerbel and Ernst Deutsch, was fulfilled and the opening of the Hotel Jugendstil took place.
